New Delhi/Barcelona, August 2025: In a landmark move to deepen cultural collaboration and artistic exchange between India and Spain, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was formally signed between the Indian Cultural Centre of Spain and the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI). The agreement aims to further strengthen and expand the initiatives under the Indo-Spain Film and Cultural Forum.
The historic signing took place in the distinguished presence of Robert Masih Nahar, two-time Member of the Senate of Spain, who has been a strong proponent of Indo-Spanish cooperation through culture and heritage.
“This collaboration marks a new era of synergy between Indian and Spanish art, cinema, and cultural narratives,” stated Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of ICMEI. “The Indo-Spain Film and Cultural Forum will now act with renewed energy and a larger vision to promote cross-cultural projects, film festivals, artist exchanges, and academic collaborations.”
Expressing his enthusiasm, Robert Masih Nahar said, “Culture connects people beyond borders. This MOU is a step towards building bridges of mutual respect, creativity, and shared history between India and Spain. I am proud to be part of this journey.”
The Indo-Spain Film and Cultural Forum, established under the aegis of ICMEI, has consistently worked to enhance bilateral relations through meaningful cultural diplomacy. The new partnership will provide a broader platform for showcasing Spanish and Indian art, cinema, literature, and music on the global stage.
This strategic alliance is expected to open new opportunities for filmmakers, cultural ambassadors, and institutions from both nations to collaborate, co-create, and celebrate the spirit of global harmony through the arts.
