Noida, India: A landmark seminar on “Media and Social Justice: Voices from the Margins” was inaugurated today at the 14th Global Festival of Journalism & AVGC Noida 2026, held at Marwah Studios, Film City, Noida. The session brought together distinguished dignitaries, media professionals, and thought leaders to deliberate on the vital role of media in amplifying marginalised voices and promoting social justice in contemporary society. The Festival continues to celebrate international dialogue in media and journalism, building on its long-standing legacy as a global platform for media excellence.

The seminar was formally inaugurated by: H.E. Alberto Guani, Ambassador of Uruguay , H.E. Abdullah M Abu Shawesh, Ambassador of Palestine, H.E. Chandradath Singh, High Commissioner of Trinidad & Tobago, and Ruby Yadav well known BJP Leader.

The seminar was initiated by Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios and Festival President, who set the tone for the discussion by outlining the critical intersection of media, justice, and societal equity. Dr. Marwah emphasised that media has both the power and responsibility to shine a spotlight on the struggles and narratives of marginalised communities, urging journalists and communicators to uphold ethical reporting and participatory representation in every story they tell.

Each distinguished speaker contributed unique insights on the subject: Tapas Sen highlighted the challenges faced by marginalised communities in accessing fair media representation. RJ Atishay spoke passionately about radio and new media as platforms for unheard voices. H.E. Alberto Guani shared the importance of media freedom in enabling social justice globally. H.E. Abdullah M Abu Shawesh underscored the role of storytelling in fostering empathy and human understanding. H.E. Chandradath Singh stressed how inclusive media contributes to international peace and harmony.

Ruby Yadav and Harish Tyagi discussed practical ways journalists can integrate social justice themes into everyday reporting. Pallav Bagla and Alfredo Caldera reflected on global perspectives and the role of media in challenging systemic injustices. Sunil Dang and Dr. P K Rajput offered academic viewpoints on structural inequalities in the media ecosystem. Gaurav Lalit called for sustained, community-centred journalism that prioritises marginalised narratives.

The seminar featured robust discussions, with participants sharing their views on how inclusive media practices help empower underrepresented communities. The session drew appreciation from attendees, including media professionals and international delegates, emphasising that equitable representation in media is essential for building a just and democratic society.

The 14th Global Festival of Journalism & AVGC Noida continues with diverse programmes addressing pressing issues in media, technology, culture, and society, fostering global collaboration and media innovation.
