Comic Characters Come to Life at First-Ever Fashion Show During Xtreme Champions League at Marwah Studios
Noida – May 2025 – In a spectacular blend of creativity, cosplay, and digital artistry, Marwah Studios, in association with the AAFT School of Animation and the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI), hosted the first-ever Fashion Show of Comic Characters as a highlight event of the ongoing Xtreme Champions League. This groundbreaking initiative marked a new milestone in India’s emerging animation and gaming culture, where fictional characters stepped out of screens and into the spotlight.
Conceptualized and executed by the talented students of AAFT School of Animation, the show featured original comic characters designed, styled, and brought to life through innovative costume design and character modeling. The ramp was transformed into a fantasy world, drawing thunderous applause from the audience and dignitaries present.
Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of AAFT University of Media and Arts, inaugurated the show and lauded the efforts of the young creators: “Comic characters are beloved around the world and serve as cultural icons. Presenting them on the fashion runway is not just bold—it’s a unique form of art. I congratulate all the students on this powerful and imaginative display. We are now planning to copyright our original characters and build their popularity globally.”
The fashion show received high praise from a distinguished international delegation, including: Hiroki Kawasaki, Senior Director of Business Development at JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization), who noted: “This event showcases India’s emerging leadership in character design and storytelling. The talent and passion here are world-class.”
Alfredo Caldera, Cultural Counsellor at the Embassy of Venezuela, stated: “It’s exciting to see students giving life to characters that reflect diverse imagination and cultural narratives. This is truly world-class creative innovation.”
Avital Barak, Cultural Counsellor at the Embassy of Israel, remarked: “This kind of event goes beyond entertainment—it’s about identity, creativity, and visual storytelling. A wonderful initiative that brings cultures together through fantasy.”
Also present at the event were Ayush Founder of Mellow Fox Studios, Vrinda Sood Founder and CEO Citrus Ink, Maria Jose Gomez Counsellor Embassy of Venezuela, Jenica Kalra of JETRO, Dr. Manoj Agarwal Campus Director AAFT, and Ashish Garg Dean AAFT School of Animation, who expressed their pride in the students’ efforts and reaffirmed AAFT’s mission to nurture talent through hands-on, globally relevant experiences.
