The week-long festival of creativity and cultural celebration has officially been recognized as the largest fashion week ever hosted by an academic institution globally.
Organized by the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI) Fashion Committee, in collaboration with the AAFT School of Fashion and Design and the AAFT School of Interior Designing, GFDW 2025 was a magnificent showcase of international talent and innovation. Highlights of the event included: Participation of 200 top designers; Display of 550 designer garments; 125 unique interior design pieces; 90 fashion rounds across 9 grand shows; 6 curated exhibitions; 9 international culinary experiences; Fashion film screenings; Live broadcast via MSTV and Radio Noida; and Collaboration with over 600 global media outlets.
Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of the Festival and Chair of the Indo DPR Korea Film and Cultural Forum, expressed pride in the Forum’s continued involvement. “Like always, the Indo DPR Korea Film and Cultural Forum was a key contributor to this prestigious global platform. This year, we were honored to present a collection inspired by the deep-rooted artistic traditions of DPR Korea,” said Dr. Marwah.
The showcased collection drew from DPR Korea’s rich cultural tapestry. Garments featured paisley motifs inspired by traditional ceramics and royal court robes. Designed in luxurious crepe, with zari and sequin embroidery, the pieces stood out in deep green tones—symbolizing resilience and grace. The collection’s structured yet fluid silhouettes paid homage to the legacy of bojagi (traditional wrapping cloth) and hanbok (traditional Korean attire), reimagined with a touch of modern elegance.
The Indo DPR Korea Film and Cultural Forum continues to play a pivotal role in building cultural bridges through creative collaborations and remains committed to promoting peace and friendship between India and DPR Korea through arts and media.
